What is IBM Metering, Monitoring and Monetizing Service?
IBM Metering, Monitoring and Monetizing Service (MMMS) is a middleware solution that provides a consistent infrastructure for metering, monitoring and potentially monetizing content and services in a high volume Web 2.0 environment. For example, MMMS tracks usage of Web 2.0 assets such as widgets, feeds and services.
How does it work?
MMMS provides a simple API with support for varying granularity in the content and services being tracked. It provides a Run/Deployment-time configuration of the Consumer Data Record (CDR) for a transaction on the content and service. MMMS also facilitates data correlation and association across all the sources from which metrics are captured about an offering. It provides users line-of-sight access to data to encourage analytics and data mining.

Vijay Dheap is the resident Emerging Technology Analyst for the IBM jStart team. His focus is on the business value of emerging technologies and played a key role in developing the IBM Software Group's Web 2.0 strategy. Vijay is also the development lead for the Metering Monitoring and Monetizing Service (MMMS) which is now included in IBM Mashup Center product. Prior to joining IBM, Vijay earned his Masters in Computer Engineering from University of Waterloo, Canada.
Mike Whitley is a developer on IBM Mashup Center product team. Prior to joining the IBM Mashup Center product team, he worked as a Co-Op with Emerging Technologies team for 3 years. His work included building mashups, developing the Metering, Monitoring and Monetization Service, and work on the Mashuphub prototype. The Mashuphub prototype would eventually become part of the IBM Mashup Center product. While working as a Co-Op at IBM he received his Bachelors of Science in Computer Science from NC State University.
Aaron Lindsay is currently working towards a BS in Computer Science from Virginia Tech. He is a Co-Op on the IBM jStart Emerging Technologies team, where he has helped develop MMMS, and worked on several other projects in emerging web technologies.
Chris Gladd is a student at Pennsylvania State University majoring in Computer Science. Currently he is a Co-Op on the IBM jStart Emerging Technologies team and has over three years of software development experience.
